Danny Booko addressed his feud with Janet Caperna during a podcast interview last week, sharing whether or not the two of them could reconcile.
As he also reflected on the takedown that Jax Taylor, 46, planned against him and his wife, Nia Booko, 36, amid The Valley season two, confirmed their current status, and explained why he’d pick Jax over Janet, Danny, 42, revealed his biggest takeaway from the series, and spoke of Janet’s action against him and Nia.
“I don’t think [we could make amends],” Danny revealed on the April 14 episode of The Eds of Janet, who put a spotlight on his drinking last season. “I had hopes … [But] she didn’t burn a bridge, she nuclear bombed a bridge by the things that she came out and said.”
According to Danny, he and Nia were “almost like America’s Sweethearts on Bravo” after season one, which led certain members of the show, including Jax, to act out against them amid season two.
“Jax being one of them, obviously, he was my closest friend going into it, and if you know Jax, which I didn’t know as well in his reality TV world, his kind of MO is to put a target on the people that are being shown in a good light so he went after us hard,” Danny revealed. “Behind our backs, he talked to people in the cast, in our group, and said, ‘Hey, we have to take down Nia and Danny.’”
After calling Jax and questioning him about the “blatant, made-up lies” he was spreading, Danny said he “went off … on a rage.”
“It was really weird, and unfortunately, a few people definitely got on board, and so the second season was really, really tough,” Danny continued. “There was a big target on our backs, people saying that we thought we were perfect, and we were playing this whole, protecting our image.”
Admitting that he and Nia didn’t air all of their dirty laundry on the show, Danny insisted that he and his wife showed plenty.
He then recalled the behavior that followed Jax getting out of rehab.
“[Season two] was a really tough … He was in rehab the first 30 days of it, rage texting everybody while I was sending him, saying, ‘Hey man, I hope you’re doing okay in there. I hope you’re getting the help you need,’ sending him some devotionals, some scripture, some things like that, and he just came out like a raging bull, like, ‘I had 30 days that I missed. Now I’m just gonna tunnel vision you and Nia and just try to come after you.’ It was ugly,” Danny shared. “[But] the viewers are smart, and they saw right through it, and it completely backfired, and we got nothing but love and support.”
Despite his hard times with Jax, Danny admitted that if he had to pick him or Janet to reconcile with, he’d pick Jax.
“Because Jax, at least, he admitted to it,” he explained.
Still, while Danny accepted Jax’s apology, there hasn’t been any action behind it, and they haven’t talked since the end of season two.
Regarding his biggest takeaway, Danny said he’d learned to focus on himself throughout his time on the show.
“You can’t control or change anybody but yourself. What I do is each day to live a life of love and kindness and learn from my mistakes, know that at the end of the day, I’m good with God and I’m good with my wife. That’s what’s the most important, and the kids, obviously. I try to focus on the positive. There’s a lot of negative, there’s a lot of conflict with this. But it has, after three seasons, it’s given us a platform that I feel like from the thousands and thousands of viewers that have been so positive, that have been so uplifting, that have helped so many, that’s probably my biggest takeaway from it,” he concluded.
The Valley season three airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
