While speaking with NME, Freya Allan said that not working alongside Henry Cavill in The Witcher Season 4 was “very weird.” She added, “He’s the Geralt I grew up with.”
Allan also recalled Cavill’s knowledge and loyalty to The Witcher novels and how he lobbied for specific lines to be included. She said that after he departed the series, she went on to push creatives to stay true to the books. The actress also revealed that during Season 4 and Season 5’s filming, she didn’t shy away from letting showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich know about things from the books that needed to be included in the series.
“I really want to give fans what they want,” Allan explained. “I’d also seen Henry, who was so knowledgeable and loyal to the books, push for certain lines to be included. When he left, I was inspired to take on that role,” she added.
Further, Allan revealed that she and the cast welcomed Liam Hemsworth into the show and admitted to being a fan of The Hunger Games, in which Hemsworth acted.
In addition, the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes star expressed her surprise at the criticism directed at the story elements adapted from the books for Season 4. “The thing that’s surprised me most about season four is how many people have criticized things that are straight from the books,” she shared.
Further, Allan touched upon her feelings regarding the series’ upcoming conclusion. She stated, “That final season took everything out of me, but I feel so incredibly satisfied.”
The Witcher Season 4 is currently streaming on Netflix.
