Tom Cruise revealed what he and Taylor Swift were discussing when they were photographed together at a Kansas City Chiefs game, admitting the singer had taken charge of explaining the action.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Thursday, the 64-year-old actor recalled sitting beside Taylor as they watched Travis Kelce play, offering a glimpse into the conversation behind the photographs. “She was schooling me on football,” Tom said.
When Jimmy asked whether he was serious, Tom confirmed that Taylor had impressed him with her knowledge of the sport before praising her talents beyond the stadium.

The pair were photographed chatting in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium on September 14, when the Chiefs opened their season against the Denver Broncos. Taylor wore a red-and-white checked outfit as she watched the game alongside Tom.

Jimmy introduced the subject by asking what two of the world’s most famous entertainers talked about when they found themselves sitting together.
Tom’s answer put the focus firmly on Taylor’s enthusiasm for the game. He explained that she had been following the action closely and helping him understand what was happening on the field. “But she knows her stuff,” he said.

Tom also recalled Taylor praising Travis for his patience as she learned about the sport. By the time of their latest stadium outing, however, Taylor had become the person explaining the plays to her fellow guest. “She knows, she knows,” Tom said. “She’s just bringing it.”

The actor also spoke warmly about Taylor and Travis, describing the atmosphere among their friends in the suite. “They’re a beautiful couple, you know, and magical in their own right,” he said.

“I haven’t been to a football game since pre-COVID,” he said. “So to get to hang out there and have that moment, it was a lot of fun.”
The photographs captured the pair reacting to the game, with Taylor laughing beside Tom as they watched from their seats. Their appearance drew attention during the broadcast, with the NFL also sharing footage of them together.

Their conversation also turned to the industries in which they had each built their careers. Jimmy asked whether they had found time to discuss music and movies between watching the plays, prompting Tom to reveal another quality he admired in the singer. “We talk about music and movies and she’s funny,” he said.
Jimmy also praised Taylor’s writing, while Tom offered an equally enthusiastic response. Having described her as a genius earlier in the interview, he was just as complimentary about her company. “She’s just, she’s got such a great sense of humour.”
