Tomorrowland Announces New Two-Day Festival in Medellín Botanical Garden

Once the domain of dangerous white powder, Medellín now boasts Colombia’s most addictive new narcotic—the potent and powerful beats of Tomorrowland.

The team behind its CORE brand is now turning the page of a new chapter after announcing a two-day festival in the City of Eternal Spring, which is scheduled for May 11-12. CORE Medellín will take over the lush Jardín Botánico de Medellín—more commonly known as the Botanical Garden of Medellín—and its famed centerpiece, the “Orquideorama.”

According to its architects, the stunning modular edifice mirrors Tomorrowland’s deeply rooted commitment to connection.

“The Construction of a Orchideorama should come up of the relation between architecture and the living organisms,” said architects Felipe Mesa, Alejandro Bernal, Camilo Restrepo and J. Paul Restrepo. “It should not make any distinction between natural and artificial, on the contrary, it should accept them as a unity that allows architecture to be conceived as a material, spatial, environmental organization that is deeply related to the processes of life.”

Leaving your everyday behind at Tomorrowland has become a tradition for millions in the global electronic dance music community. And after the iconic festival brand unveiled its stupefying CORE stage in Tulum over the weekend, stepping through its looking glass has never been more enticing.

Tomorrowland’s organizers are installing the revamped CORE stage, which was engineered by the company’s industry-leading creative team, in the botanical garden for the inaugural CORE Medellín. They’re working with Breakfast Club, a local promoter with over a decade of experience producing festivals in Colombia and a mission “to make Medellín a cultural capital” through its musical events.

Tomorrowland is expecting 20,000 attendees over the course of the festival’s two days, according to a press release shared with EDM.com. A lineup has not yet been revealed at the time of this article’s publication.

Fans can now register for exclusive access to the CORE Medellín presale, which will begin on Tuesday, February 6th at 10am ET and will last for 72 hours until Thursday, February 8th.
