Welcome to Plathville star Lydia Plath is engaged to her boyfriend, Zac Wyse.
The couple confirmed the news in a statement to People on Monday, December 16. “The moment we were in each other’s arms we were overwhelmed with all the emotions that led us to this moment where all we could feel was pure joy for the commitment we were about to make,” Plath, 20, said.
Wyse popped the question in front of a gorgeous forest backdrop that weekend. Plath flashed her diamond ring in pics from their proposal via Instagram on Monday. Channeling the colors of the holiday season, Plath sported a red top and black skirt for the photo shoot, which Wyse complemented with a navy suit and maroon tie.
“A million reasons to say YES to the love of my life!🥹❤️💍 @zaclwyse you’re a gift from the Lord!🤍,” Plath captioned the slideshow. “You’ve been so patient with me and you’ve led in such a humble and giving way.”

She continued: “The way you care for not only me, but for my family, my friends and everyone you come across in such an intentional way is a rare gem to find. And the ways I’ve seen the Lord work in and through our relationship has been such a beautiful experience and I can’t wait to experience that with you forever!❤️ I love you so much❤️ And I’m so blessed to call you mine❤️.”
Wyse called Plath the “love of my life” while sharing more proposal pics via his own Instagram. “You make me better in ways I never knew possible. You push me closer to the Lord every day and I can’t wait to see what else the Lord has in store for us! I love you so much and I am so excited to spend the rest of our lives together! ❤️,” he gushed.
He went on to thank Plath’s family members who helped make “this whole thing possible,” sharing, “We were able to pull off the most elaborate surprise for her and it really made this day so special for us!”

Plath first teased her relationship via Instagram on National Boyfriend Day in October, though it’s unknown when the pair began dating. “You’re a blessing from the Lord and have brought so much joy to my life!” she captioned a pic of her and Wyse’s hands. “I can’t wait to see what the future holds!”
One month later, Plath confirmed Wyse’s identity by making their romance Instagram official. “Words can’t describe how grateful I am the Lord has brought you into my life!❤️,” she wrote alongside November 21 snaps from a sweet couples photo shoot. “You never cease to amaze me with the adventures we go on, supporting me in every high and low, and overflowing every moment with joy as we pursue the Lord together. My love @zaclwyse 🤍.”
Fans were introduced to Plath when Welcome to Plathville premiered on TLC in 2019. Lydia is the fifth eldest of Barry and Kim Plath’s nine kids including Ethan, 26, Hosana, 25, Micah, 23, Moriah, 22, Isaac, 19, Amber, 15, Cassia, 13, and Mercy, 11. The reality series follows the Plath children as they look to forge their own paths from their religious upbringing.
