Independent Artist Group (IAG) has a new unscripted boss.
The agency has hired WME’s Nir Caspi as Head of Non-Scripted & New Media and Chief Growth Officer.
Caspi has spent 15 years at WME, where he was a partner, working across non-scripted television, documentaries, digital media, sports, and the creator economy. He was one of those behind the reboot of Queer Eye for Netflix, which is ending its eight year run with its tenth season launching tomorrow.
It comes after IAG was created two years ago following the merger between APA and AGI and the appointment of Kyle Loftus as President last year.
Caspi succeeds Hayden Meyer, who was Head of Alternative and Factual Programming at the agency. Meyer, who has been with the company for nearly 20 years, will remain a partner and agent.
LA-based Caspi has represented companies including American Ninja Warrior producer A. Smith & Co., Hollywood Game Night producer Mission Control and Bari Weiss’ The Free Press as well as many other production companies as well as the likes of former New England Patriot Julian Edelman and nu-metal band Linkin Park.
“Nir is exactly the kind of leader we look for—someone who understands both the evolving marketplace and how to empower businesses to meet that need,” said Jim Osborne, CEO, and Kyle Loftus, President, of IAG. “As we build IAG as the true alternative in the full-service agency space, our focus has been on growth, innovation, and opportunity for our clients.”
“IAG has demonstrated, at a time when agencies across the industry are downsizing, a willingness to invest in strategic and transformational growth under the leadership of Jim Osborne and Kyle Loftus, positioning IAG as the undisputed top alternative to the Big 3 agencies. They have the resources and the will to continue their growth trajectory, as well as excellent clients and signing momentum, which is why I am extremely excited to join their team,” added Caspi.
“Building and leading this department has been an honor,” said Meyer. “Given the monumental changes in the entertainment industry and a significant shift toward influencer-driven content, the time is right, and Nir is the ideal leader to guide the department into the future. I look forward to collaborating with Jim, Kyle and Nir to ensure our continued progress and success as an agency.”
