youbet just announced their forthcoming self-titled album, out May 1 via Sub Pop offshoot Hardly Art. What was originally a solo endeavour by Nick Llobet, youbet have now expanded into a duo alongside Micah Prussack. The result of that new collaboration is the self-titled LP.
“It’s the beginning of a new era for youbet,” Llobet says. “The band started as a sort of bedroom project for myself, but it has transformed into something expansive since working with Micah. It’s like we’re running a family business.”

On the full-length, the New York band explore the late-night spiraling after the breakdown of an 11-year relationship on the new lead single and album opener, “Ground Kiss,” produced by longtime collaborator Katie Von Schleicher. “The song represents an endless search for that something and the rebuilding that goes along with trial and failure,” Llobet explains.
Later this month, youbet will begin a North American tour alongside Remember Sports.
