Apple TV has revealed two major updates for its upcoming series featuring Zazie Beetz and an X-Men star. The series has a brand-new title and an official premiere date. It will debut later this year with a 10-episode first season.
What is the new title and release date for Zazie Beetz’s new Apple TV show?
The show was previously titled Lazarus and is now officially retitled Nocturne. Alongside Beetz, the upcoming TV show will feature Liev Schreiber, who played Victor Creed in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It will air on Apple TV from October 30, 2026. It also stars Stephen Graham, known for This Is England, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Venom: The Last Dance, and more.
Nocturne is based on the novels Lazarus and The Sandman by Lars Kepler, which is a shared pen name by the husband-and-wife writing duo Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho Ahndori. The Apple TV show will see Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin unite as showrunner, co-writers, and executive producers. (via Deadline)
Apart from Beetz, Schreiber, and Graham, the other cast members include Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Poorna Jagannathan, Chrissy Metz, and Gary Carr.

The official logline reads, “When a victim of notorious serial killer Jurek Walter (Graham) unexpectedly turns up alive, detective Jonah Lynn (Schreiber) races against time to find the one person still missing, while his protege Saga Bauer (Beetz) goes undercover to get answers from the killer himself.”
The Apple TV series is being produced by A+E Studios alongside Range Studios. Tim Van Patten will executive produce the series and direct its first two episodes. Schreiber and Beetz (Sleepy Poppy production company) will also serve as executive producers. Barry Jossen and Tana Jamieson (via A+E Studios) and Peter Micelli, Heather Kadin, and Jack Whigham (via Range Studios) are also executive producers on the show.
Other executive producers on the show include Kepler (Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril), David Rysdahl, Oystein Karlsen, Niclas Salomonsson, and Dorothy Fortenberry.
