Check out the main official trailer for the indie horror film Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, arriving to watch in limited theaters starting in August. Jurassic Park meets Dr. Strangelove. It’s a reprise and fifth feature spin of the 1978 cult classic Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, the wacky franchise that went from 80s midnight screenings to help launch the Fox Children’s TV Network. Now they’re “pitting the eternal power of nature against AI’s best and brightest.” Expect cult-classic mayhem, fresh splatstick, a new generation of characters, and tomatoes with way too much confidence. This bonkers new splatter fest comedy stars David Koechner, with John Astin, Dan Bakkedahl, Daniel Roebuck, Catherine Corcoran, Paul Bates, Vernee Watson, Eric Roberts, Myrna Velasco, Noor Razooky, Zachary Roozen, Joshua Poon. It looks completely awful! Which is the whole point anyway! 🍅 Tasty B-movie madness to enjoy this summer.

In Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, a young biotech prodigy develops a revolutionary genetically engineered vegetable designed to solve humanity’s problems. But when the experiment spirals out of control, it unleashes a new generation of killer tomatoes, setting the stage for another outrageous chapter in the long-running cult franchise. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence is directed by indie filmmaker David Ferino, also director of the movies Cure for Pain: The Mark Sandman Story and Wardcliffe previously, plus other short films. Tomatoes co-creators Costa Dillon and J. Stephen Peace return to write the screenplay and executive produce. It’s produced by J. Stephen Peace, Juan Hernandez, Roger M. Mayer, Chad Peace, and Michael Polis. This first premiered earlier in 2026, but hasn’t play at any other festivals.
