Ben Affleck is trying to keep his thoughts positive amid his ongoing divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
The two A-listers are in the process of splitting up, of course. And we’ve heard plenty of commentary from all kinds of insiders about how each one of them is supposedly taking the split. But now, to hear a new insider tell it on Monday, it sounds like the Good Will Hunting star is taking things as well as he can, while the Waiting For Tonight singer is… not.

Speaking to People on Monday afternoon, a source insisted that the 52-year-old actor is “focused on the positives” even as his marriage crumbles to a close. Meanwhile, the feelings are apparently very much NOT mutual. According to the source, the Selena star is still carrying “some bitterness” even despite her most recent social media posts which are attempting to show that she’s at peace with the situation.
Hmmm…
The insider claimed that Affleck is “doing well,” and “slowly moving into his new home,” while adding:
“He’s where he wants to be: close to his kids and in a neighborhood that he loves. He enjoys working, too, and is very focused on the positives.”
Well, that’s nice!
Lopez, on the other hand, is apparently a good deal more sour over the split. While the superstar singer “still feels very fortunate” about her life as it stands right now, there is apparently “some bitterness” still associated with the split in her mind. That is still prevalent because, to hear this source explain it, she just could never make things work with the Argo star:
“She tried so hard to make things work and it didn’t matter to Ben.”
And yet, she’s still carrying on as best she can. The source concluded:
“She’s surrounded by family, friends and her kids. She always manages to have a positive outlook. The divorce is difficult for her, but she always finds a way to move forward.”
That she does. And it’s a life lesson for all of us, we suppose. Still, this certainly can’t be easy for her — or for Ben, even if he has thus far been able to “focus on the positives” as this new source claims amid their ongoing and highly publicized split.
