“Why do you want to fight?” “Because I can’t sing or dance!” 🥊 Has it really truly been 50 years?! Yes it has! The very first Rocky movie opened in December 1976. It became a major box office hit before going on to win Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Editing at the Oscars in 1977. Fathom brings it back to theaters this November for another round on the big screen. “The film that inspired a nation. Audiences cheered this American success story of an ‘everyman’ triumphing over all odds. As the boxer Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) comes out swinging with heart, humor and unforgettable power as he ‘goes the distance’ against World Heavyweight Champion Apollo Creed in this unforgettable film!” Sly Stallone stars in this with Carl Weathers as Apollo Creed, Talia Shire as “Adrian”, Burt Young as Paulie, and Burgess Meredith as Mickey. This is also timed with the release of the upcoming I Play Rocky movie, a fictionalized version of the making of this original film and how they pulled off a tiny miracle filming it. This OG Philly sports movie is a genuine classic! Always fun to watch, still inspiring, still entertaining. Rocky will live on forever & ever.
