Yeahhhh… Anyone who’s been following the royals for a while had a feeling this might be the case.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving back to Britain after leaving their royal duties in 2020. Sadly, the past six years have been full of feuding, mostly between Harry and his older brother, Prince William. But things aren’t exactly amazing between Meghan Markle and Princess Catherine either.

Harry and Meghan famously aired all their dirty laundry during a televised interview with Oprah Winfrey back in 2021. And if that wasn’t enough damage, Harry further peppered his family’s beef when he unpacked it for all to read in his 2023 tell-all memoir, Spare.
The royal family, while notably open to the public in many ways like service and charity, strives to keep interpersonal dealings as private as possible. So when Meg and Harry put it all out in the open for the public to dissect, that was perceived as a “deep sense of betrayal” — one that still hasn’t been completely mended.
Now, that isn’t to say Harry and Meghan didn’t have valid concerns and a right to feel upset at times. They experienced some pretty rotten moments behind castle walls, and it wasn’t all just petty squabbles. There were real allegations of deeply hurtful racism, and that’s something that should always be taken seriously.
So where do they stand now? How will Meghan and Harry’s return bode for the future of the royal family? Can the monarchy learn from the error of their alleged ways and implement change? Will it be possible to rebuild trust with Meghan and Harry? Can they ever fully make peace with one another? If not for themselves but in the interest of the children?
We know King Charles welcomes their return and looks forward to more time with his son and grandchildren. But what about the rest of the family? Well, according to People magazine, whose sources are strongly reliable, Kate and William are going to take an extremely cautious approach:
“They are watching this space. It’s private — they don’t feel the need to say anything or demonstrate anything outwardly. [Healing] will be a slow build. There is a deep sense of betrayal.”
Okay then! Let’s look at the positive here: a “slow build” is still being open to any building at all. That’s a good sign! The not so good news? The same sources recently told People they feel Harry and William’s relationship is “broken” — so it’s gonna take some kind of kickstart to get that building going at all.

If you were to ask us, it seems like it’s going to take one of the brothers to let down their ego and fully extend a genuine olive branch to the other. There’s a lot of complicated layers to their feuding, of course, so who should be the first to do it?
