KIIS FM’s Breakfast team is celebrating the news no one expected, after the network retained its number-one spot in the highly competitive timeslot.
Following the departure of Kyle and Jackie O, the show saw a slight dip in Sydney’s ratings from a 12.7 percent share to 11.7 percent, but still managed to come out on top.
These are the first ratings to be released since the former hosts’ infamous on-air spat and subsequent termination – with interim hosts Brooklyn Ross and Mike Etheridge taking to Instagram to celebrate this win.

”No one thought we could do it! But this team is simply incredible,” Ross captioned he and Etheridge’s joint Instagram post, which featured a snap of the wider KIIS FM Breakfast crew.
“Still the No 1 FM show in Sydney – THANK YOU for supporting this crew,” the co-host added.
While the show saw a 1.0 per cent dip in its home city, there was a subtle ratings spike out of Melbourne – where the show has previously been poorly rated – from 5.1 per cent to 5.4 per cent.
The most recent ratings survey period – covering February 8 to April 4 – began 12 days before The Kyle and Jackie O Show was pulled from the air after their fiery clash on February 20.

Sandilands continued on as the lone host of the show until March 3, before he was taken off air for good.
Ross, who had already featured on the breakfast show as its newsreader, later took up the mantel of co-host in March alongside Michael ‘Mike E’ Etheridge.
In the weeks after, the pair joined forces with The Project co-host Georgia Tunny to hold down the fort.

This positive outlook for KIIS FM comes amid parent company ARN’s impending legal battle with its slighted former co-hosts.
Henderson and Sandilands are both suing ARM for wrongful termination in two bombshell legal claims worth a combined total of $167 million.

Their clash on the airwaves and subsequent termination derailed their $200 million 10-year contract with ARN, which they first signed onto in 2023.
The saga first began after Jackie O read from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s astrology birth chart – with Sandilands proceeding to offer his unfiltered two cents on the matter.
“Your fixation on this has made you almost unworkable,” he told her at the time.
“You are off with the fairies with this s—, it’s mental.”
The pair’s respective hearings are set to be heard before a judge in Sydney on Friday in the Federal Court.
