More dismaying details are bubbling up about Nick Reiner — and the contentious relationship he had with his father.
Now that Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s son has been arrested on murder charges after their tragic and brutal slayings, we’re hearing about the hate Nick felt in his heart. On Monday, a source told Page Six the 32-year-old “really resented his dad.” Why? The insider added:
“[He] hated himself for not being as talented, prolific or beloved as his dad or grandad.”
As we’ve been following, Nick had struggled with recurring drug addiction issues in the past, landing himself in rehab for the first time at just 15 years old and going on to return 16 additional times after that. He even channeled his story, which includes often experiencing homelessness, into semi-autobiographical film Being Charlie.

As for Rob, his impressive Hollywood career, which spanned 64 years, saw 90 acting credits, 55 writing credits, 32 producing credits and 30 directing credits, according to IMDb. He was widely known and celebrated for directing films like Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, A Few Good Men, and many, many more. Additionally, he appeared in The Wolf of Wall Street, All in the Family, New Girl, and other classics.
Rob’s father before him, Carl Reiner, also built a noteworthy career as an actor, comedian, screenwriter, director, and author.
