As a reminder that the comics industry is still humming along, both Mad Cave and Oni have announced a bunch of hires and promotions. In ONi’s case some of them go back a few months, but basically…comics continue to be made and that is good news.

• Mad Cave has hired editor Sarah Brunstad and digital marketing specialist Troy-Jefferey Allen.

Brunstad was formerly at Marvel working on titles including Captain Marvel, Black Widow, and Aliens vs. Avengers, and also worked on Mad Cave’s upcoming anthology, LA Strong.

“After a decade-plus at Marvel, I’m thrilled to join Mad Cave Studio and help expand their line of diverse, cutting-edge comics,” said  Brunstad in a statement. “Mad Cave’s creative approach is fearless and innovative, and the industry needs that more than ever. It’s an honor to be part of a team with such a fierce commitment to telling bold stories and reaching new audiences.”

Troy-Jefferey Allen was formerly at Diamond Comics, and where is worked with sites like this one on getting information and on many other things. He also makes comics.   “It’s no secret that Mad Cave Studios has been making waves in the publishing world these last few years,” said Allen. “Being invited into the cave alongside so much talent and expertise is invigorating.”

• Over at Oni, a huge wave of new hires and promotions – all ahead of next week’s ComicsPro meeting Glendale, CA, where it promises some major annoncements. (Disclosure Oni is sponsoring the Beat’s coverage of ComicsPro.)
