Even though the investigation into Nancy Guthrie‘s disappearance and apparent abduction is as serious as it’s ever been, things surrounding the situation are also starting to get… weird.
On Tuesday morning, Brian Entin — a NewsNation reporter who has been at the scene covering this case since day one — posted this on X (Twitter) about a pizza being delivered to the Guthrie home:
“A pizza delivery man just showed up to Nancy Guthrie’s house and was able to walk up to the front door without the deputies out front noticing.”

That’s… uh… not a great reflection of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, to say the least.

And as if that weren’t wild enough, several hours after that, the department posted this jaw-dropping message evidently in response to the situation:
“We can’t believe we have to say this, but media on scene: please do not order food delivery to a crime scene address. This interferes with an active investigation. Please also respect private property laws. Thank you.”

Uh, seriously? Doesn’t the department have, ya know, more important things to be worried about right now than food deliveries?? Like, uh, securing the crime scene in the first place so that stuff couldn’t happen??? And also finding out where TF Nancy is?!?!
Folks in the comments were ALL over the place in how they reacted to this nearly unbelievable kerfuffle. Here are just a few of the many, many, many responses that are flying in amid this unexpected battle:
“It isn’t uncommon for reporters — who, believe it or not, have to eat food to live — to order delivery at broadcast locations. What is uncommon is that law enforcement doesn’t do enough of its job to secure the scene of a suspected crime, so maybe that’s the problem?”
“We can’t believe we have to say this but @PimaSheriff YOU are responsible for securing the CRIME SCENE & NOT allowing dominoes delivery drivers to walk thru it on YOUR PAID watch”
“Your deputy was sitting in his vehicle in front of the house and should have been observant to stop it.”
“Tell your officers to pay attention. The food was sent from Orgeon, a viewer was feeding the crew. The crime scene is not protected, no tape up. How would the driver know? He wasnt sure where he was going.”
“You all have botched this crime scene from the beginning.”
“Maybe use some crime scene tape at crime scenes.”
“I can’t believe we have to say this, but why did you release the house within 24 hours and then go back to find evidence did you just try to help the defense?”
“I can’t believe I have to say THIS: perhaps if you didn’t release the crime scene, they wouldn’t be able to order food to that address”
“One would expect an active crime scene to have some visible tape or restricted access.”
