Remi Wolf has announced her new album, Mud, out Oct. 9 via Island Records. The album came together after Wolf began questioning how she wanted to make music.
“I feel like I’ve crossed into a new phase of life because of this album,” Wolf says. “I literally felt like I was covered in shit. And now, at the end of the album process, I feel so clean and clear. It has been a very cleansing record to make for me.”

She traveled to Big Bear with longtime collaborator Jared Solomon and a group of friends — Jack DeMeo, Jamie McLaughlin, and Gigi Grombacher. During the retreat, they shared family dinners and passed microphones around the table as ideas took shape naturally. That same energy was brought to Electric Lady Studios in New York and then to Joshua Tree to finish up the record, recording everything together live in the same room.
Last month, Wolf released “Twiggy,” a song about the people she’s dated who were flat in every sense. The single, which was also released on vinyl alongside a hidden B-side “Tiny Little Twigs (Demo),” was first teased during Hayley Williams’ set at Newport Folk Festival.
Later this week, Wolf will release “Bottle,” the next single from the album.
