Turnstile played a massive benefit show on the National Lawn in Washington, D.C. on Saturday to raise money for Human Concern International, which delivers life-saving aid to families in Gaza, Sudan, and Lebanon.
Over 60,000 people packed onto the lawn to see the Baltimore hardcore band, who initially set a goal of raising $150,000. So far, according to the band’s LaunchGood page, they’ve raised over $260,000.

“We’re so grateful to have been raised by this scene,” vocalist Brendan Yates said during the set. “One that taught us that music not only reflects the artist making it but the people and the world and the suffering and the joy that surrounds it.”
He also asked attendees to be “loud enough for the White House to hear it,” declaring “Free Palestine! Free Sudan! Free Lebanon!” The show mirrored Fugazi’s 1993 set in the same place, when approximately 5,000 people showed up on the anniversary of the March on Washington.
