Vision is finally getting his own Disney Plus series! The project is officially set to release in 2026 with a bit of help from Star Trek: Picard‘s executive producer.
For years it was rumored that Marvel would be giving Vision his own Disney Plus series. Until now the project, colloquially known as Vision Quest, was never officially said to be in production. However, a recent report by Variety confirms that Paul Bettany will be returning to the MCU with his own show in 2026.
Paul Bettany is joined by Star Trek: Piccard executive producer Terry Matalas as the project’s showrunner. While this will be Matalas’ first project with Disney Plus and Marvel Studios, he’s previously worked on a number of sci-fi epics such as 12 Monkeys and Terra Nova.
The Lost Vision Series For Disney Plus
Interestingly, this seems to be an entirely different Vision series than what was rumored for years. The Vision Quest version of the project would’ve seen Paul Bettany reunite with WandaVision showrunner Jac Schaeffer. However, with Schaeffer focuses on the Agatha All Along spin-off, it makes sense Marvel would recruit Terry Matalas to get the project out sooner rather than later.
It was previously reported that writer Megan McDonnell and executive story editor Peter Cameron would return for the Vision series when it was under the helm of Jac Schaeffer. It’s currently unlear if they’ll work on this incarnation of the series, or if Terry Matals will be assembling an entirely new team to craft the Paul Bettany-led show for Disney Plus.
