The X-Force may finally be coming to the MCU! A rumor suggests that fans may have their first confirmed project for the upcoming Mutant Saga.
For as plagued as the MCU has been with the rumor mill, the Mutant Saga remains completely within the fog of war. This is shocking since, with Secret Wars coming next winter, the Multiverse Saga is set to come to an end in less than two years. Which means that projects for the next phase should be starting soon if they expect to come out on time.
The only project fans truly have pinned to happen in the MCU’s Mutant Saga is the X-Men reboot, an observation as shocking as rice turning white. Yet it has previously been confirmed that Ryan Reynolds is developing a project NOT focused on Deadpool for the franchise. While some have speculated that this could be an X-Force film, the rumor mill has largely been silent.
Is An X-Force Movie In Development?
That is, until recently, when scooper DanielRPK posted a rumor stating that an X-Force movie is in development for the Mutant Saga. While the report didn’t EXPLICITLY state that this is the project Ryan Reynolds is working on for the MCU, it’s not a large leap given how few creatives have been reported to have been brought on to the next phase.
So if Ryan Reynolds IS working on the X-Force movie, it’s likely that Deadpool, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and Dafne Keen’s X-23 will all appear in the project. As for who else, the Mutant Saga has a LOT of ground to cover when it comes to introducing iconic X-Men, so it wouldn’t be shocking if the film served as the debut of characters like Gambit, Cable, Bishop, or even Forge.
Ryan Reynolds is reportedly writing an X-Force film. It is not confirmed to be in development for the MCU. Stay tuned for the latest updates surrounding the X-Force film!
